Twitch clips not working? How to turn clips on
If nobody can clip your Twitch stream, clips are probably switched off or restricted in your channel settings. Open the Creator Dashboard, go to Settings, then Stream, and check that Clips are enabled and that the follower restrictions aren’t stricter than you intended.
Check your clip settings
- Open your Twitch Creator Dashboard.
- Go to Settings → Stream and find the clip settings.
- Make sure clips are enabled.
- If you restrict clipping to followers, check the minimum follow time. A long requirement means most viewers, and some tools, can’t clip.
Clipping from a past broadcast
To clip after the stream you need the VOD, so Store past broadcasts has to be on (same settings page). VODs don’t last forever: Twitch keeps them for 7 days by default, 14 for Affiliates and 60 for Partners and Turbo or Prime users. Clip or export the moments you want before then; see Twitch VOD to TikTok.
If a clipping tool says it can’t clip your channel
- Clips are off or follower-restricted (above).
- The tool is connected to a different Twitch account than the channel you stream on.
- You’re clipping someone else’s channel: you need clips enabled there and their permission to post.
For Clipsie specifically, the help page lists every reason a stream can end without clips.
