How Clipsie works, and what to do when it doesn't

Setup, clipping, posting, billing, troubleshooting

Connect Twitch, pick where clips go, stream. Clipsie watches chat, cuts the moments that pop, and posts them or holds them for your approval. Most questions below have a one-line answer; if yours does not, the contact form reaches a person.

Getting started

Sign up with an email address and password, or with Google. The first time you open the dashboard a short setup walks you through the four things Clipsie cannot work without:

You can leave the setup and come back; it resumes where you stopped. Everything it sets can be changed later in the dashboard, per channel.

Connecting Twitch, YouTube and TikTok

Each platform is connected once, through that platform's own sign-in screen. Clipsie stores the access token it gets back, encrypted, and never sees your password.

Reconnecting. Tokens expire or get revoked when you change a password, remove the app on the platform's side, or leave a platform's terms unaccepted for too long. The dashboard marks the platform as disconnected; open the Account tab and connect it again. Clips that were waiting to post stay in the queue until then.

How clipping works

Clipsie learns your channel's normal chat rhythm and watches for chat to erupt past it. Each spike is scored in two stages, on the reaction and on what was actually said, and only the moments with real potential become clips. Every clip is reframed to vertical 9:16 with face-aware cropping, captioned word by word, given a title and hashtags, and handed to your destinations.

AI editor cut (every paid plan). Every clip that posts automatically gets a second pass from an AI editor before it goes out. It reads about two minutes of stream before the moment and one minute after, and cuts the clip the way a short-form editor would: it opens on the strongest line or the action itself instead of a slow lead-in, drops the pauses, filler and repeated attempts, keeps the setup the payoff needs, and punches in on your cam or the game only when the moment earns it. A clip waits up to an hour for its cut. If the cut cannot be made, the clip posts as rendered rather than waiting longer, so nothing is ever lost to it. Clips you hold for approval in review mode post as rendered, and so do clips on the free plan.

Humanized AI Clipper. Clipsie's second product finds and edits clips almost like a human. Instead of starting from a chat spike, it watches the whole stream or VOD, finds the story around a moment (the setup, the reasoning, the guess, the reveal and the reaction) and cuts it the way a human editor would. Turned on for a channel, it runs by itself after every stream; you can also order a run on a past stream in the Tools tab, or redo a single VOD clip from Review. It has three levels: Humanized AI Clipper (our best AI at every step, the closest to a human editor), Humanized Edit (our best AI edits, a faster AI finds the moments) and Humanized Lite (fast AIs at every step, the lowest price). Review queue, auto-post and schedule

Per channel you choose one of two modes, and you can switch any time:

Schedule. On every paid plan you pick the days and times clips go out, in your own timezone, per channel, and Clipsie spaces uploads inside those windows instead of posting ten clips at once. Without a schedule it posts on automatic slots. A single clip can also be given its own time from its card.

Stream imports

An import hands Clipsie a past stream, a VOD, by link. Twitch VODs and highlights work, and so do Kick and YouTube links. It works through the whole recording instead of watching live. The clips come back to the same review queue or auto-post flow as live clips, and count toward your monthly clips. Imports are part of every paid plan, with a monthly number of hours searched (60 on Starter, 100 on Creator, 150 on Studio, per channel), and are not on the free plan. A VOD has to belong to the channel you import it for, and each VOD can be run once a day. A run that fails does not count.

Something is not working

A stream produced no clips. In this order:

A clip was made but never posted.

Cannot log in. Passwords need at least 8 characters with upper and lower case, a digit and a symbol. Use "Forgot password" on the login page; the reset link is valid for a short time and works once. If you signed up with Google, use the Google button. A confirmation or reset email that does not arrive within a few minutes is usually in spam; otherwise write to us and we look at the delivery log.

The dashboard looks stale. Reload the page. If a number still looks wrong, tell us which channel and which stream; every clip and every stream keeps a record we can check.

Still stuck

Clipsie is run by one person, and support is answered by that person, usually within two working days. Use the contact form or write to [email protected]. The fastest way to a fix is the channel name, the date of the stream, and what you expected to happen.
