How to post Twitch clips to TikTok

Updated 3 November 2026

Short answer

To post Twitch clips to TikTok, download or cut the clip, reframe it to vertical 9:16 so the facecam and the action both show, add captions, and upload it through the TikTok app or a tool connected to TikTok’s official posting API. Clipsie does this automatically from your live stream and can hold each clip for your approval first.

Why a raw Twitch clip doesn’t work on TikTok

Twitch clips are landscape. On TikTok that means a thin strip in the middle of a tall screen, with no captions, and people swipe past it in under a second. A stream clip that does well on TikTok is vertical, starts on the action, and has captions viewers can read without sound.

Doing it by hand

  1. Download the clip from your Twitch dashboard (Creator Dashboard → Content → Clips).
  2. Open it in a vertical editor (CapCut, StreamLadder, or any editor with a 9:16 canvas) and place the facecam and the gameplay.
  3. Add auto-captions and check them; stream audio is noisy and auto-captions get names and slang wrong.
  4. Upload in the TikTok app with a short caption that sets up the moment and two or three relevant hashtags.

Automatically, with Clipsie

Connect TikTok once on TikTok’s own sign-in screen. Clipsie then posts each finished clip through TikTok’s official API, vertical, captioned and titled. In the review queue you can watch it first, fix the title or a caption line, adjust the crop, and set the TikTok privacy before approving. Clipsie also posts the same clip to YouTube Shorts if you connect both. Instagram Reels is not supported.

Before you post someone else’s stream

Clipping your own channel is simple. Clipping another streamer’s content and posting it needs their permission; Clipsie works on other channels only on that basis (see the Terms). Music playing on stream is a separate risk: TikTok can mute or remove a clip with copyrighted audio.

Try it on your next stream

Clipsie is free to start, no card needed: connect Twitch, pick YouTube or TikTok, and your first stream is watched end to end automatically. Start free or see pricing.
